How to get to Havelock
Havelock is about 30km north east of Port Blair (the capital city of the Andamans). Since it is the most popular tourist destination there are plenty of travel options to get there. There are at least three government ferries that move daily between Phoenix Bay Jetty in Port Blair and the Havelock Jetty. While some go via Neil, many are direct connections.
One can also choose among the private ferries. These are pricier but faster (about 1.5 hours compared to 2.5 hours). Check timetables and prices online or at the ticket counter as they often change. In high season make sure to book your ride in advance as tickets do run out. Booking is possible only 4 days in advance.
Don’t forget the photocopies of your permit, visa and passport before entering the queue – you’ll need them.
