A Single Dive will Change your Life. Do Scuba.

Scuba Diving in Andaman and Nicobar Islands is a 100% must do experience. Andaman is a great diving location. The ocean reminds us to be present and that we are small in the grand scheme of things. I think it’s important to practice mindfulness when visiting the ocean to get the most out of the experience. Be aware of the sounds and sights around you.

Watch the corals sway and the fish dance with the surges of the water. Get lost in the colourful busy movements of the reef, or the vastness of the deep blue. Let your everyday stress disappear and feel the sense of calmness and awe that the ocean pours over you.

Wondering what’s Scuba Diving?

Scuba Diving, in definition, is the act of existing underwater with a self-contained underwater breathing apparatus (SCUBA), basically, an activity where you stay underwater for a long time using special equipment and an oxygen tank. The setup requires technical help so you can’t just bring in your swim suit and a tank to do it. You need expert dive masters. And that’s why you need to book a slot with them to do scuba diving.

Should I Dive in Havelock or Neil Island?

This is a difficult question to answer because they’re all beautiful! But there are a few differences that may help you pick a dive spot that’s perfect for you.

Havelock:

Havelock is hands-down the most popular dive destination on the islands.

  • You can do both shore and boat dives here. The shore dives are generally more crowded and the boat dives are done at spots that are more secluded. All the spots are stunning and bustling with marine life.

  • After arriving by the Port Blair to Havelock ferry, most divers head straight to their chosen dive centers to kick off their underwater adventures.

  • Havelock is where diving started on the islands and it has continued to be the hub for divers, beginner and advanced, from all over the country and the world.

Neil Island:

Neil Island is no less, in fact, it is more.

  • Neil has got everything that Havelock has, with the added advantage of being more secluded and still in pristine conditions. If you’re someone who prefers it all Far, Far From the Madding Crowd, then this is the place for you.

  • It is almost guaranteed that when diving in Neil, you will get high-visibility underwater and many bright corals and fishes.

If you are on a short trip, then you should skip Neil Island altogether and choose to do your dives at Havelock or at Port Blair.

Should you book a Boat dive or a Shore dive?

Note: We are currently not offering Shore Dives. But don’t be discouraged, Boat Dives are always more fun and the underwater world is always richer.

Why Book NOW?

We work with the best dive shops in the Andamans and they get booked out pretty quickly, sometimes a month or two in advance. If you decide to book after you arrive at the Andamans, chances are that you may have to dive with a mediocre dive shop which can dilute the entire experience. So secure your spot now and even if you change your mind, we will give a full refund 24-hour before the trip.

It’s absolutely safe provided you do this with a certified dive-master and do this activity from a PADI-certified dive center. Go2andaman works with only PADI 5 Certified Dive Shops/Resorts.
