Amina lodge is a small and simple place to stay in Port Blair. Right in the heart of the bazar, the location is the center of Port Blair town but can also get noisy for the same reason. They can also manage to book all kinds of tickets and travel to almost anywhere. The rooms are small and basic but clean. Run by a very chatty local couple, the lodge however has very strict rules for its guests. Smoking and drinking alcohol in the premises are a strict no-no. It is also very conservative and will not allow male and female guests to stay in one room unless they show some kind of proof of marriage. Even if you are a young married couple, be prepared to answer questions and details about your marriage, for they want to be convinced. They also won’t tolerate outsiders coming inside the lodge – so you can’t have friends or companions over. If you don’t mind the rules and still want an affordable place, Amina Lodge is not a bad bet.
