The backbone of the Andamans is the ferry system that connects its islands. These ferries arrive and depart from the designated jetty in Andamans. Haddo jetty in Port Blair is a key boarding point for all private jetties heading to and fro from Havelock and Neil Island.
Apart from passenger ferries, oil, general cargo and container berth ships also dock at the jetty, making it the main harbour in Port Blair.

How To Reach Haddo Jetty, Port Blair
- Haddo Jetty is approximately 15-20 minutes from the airport and approximately 10 mins (4.2 kms) from Aberdeen Bazar.
- You can rent a taxi/car or opt for government buses, autos and minibuses to reach the jetty.
- Though we recommend avoiding buses if you are short on time and have a lot of luggage. The bus stop is a kilometer away from the jetty.
Boarding Guidelines for Haddo Jetty, Port Blair
1. Arrive 1 hour before ferry departure timings.
2. The boarding gate opens 30 minutes before the ferry arrives. From here it will take 10 minutes to reach the ferry boarding point.
3. Carry a valid government ID and your ferry ticket – both are checked at the time of entering the jetty gate.
4. If you have a concession ticket then present the valid ID at the time of entering the jetty.
5. Don’t carry any illegal, inflammable, explosive or dangerous items in your bags.
6. Strictly adhere to the liquor policy. You are allowed one sealed liquor bottle, per person, with the original bill. Put this in your check-in baggage and not the hand luggage.

1. The entry points and exit points at the jetty have wheelchair ramps making it easily accessible for the differently abled.
2. The jetty has a large waiting area where passengers can kill time before their ferry arrives.
3. There is a small kiosk at the jetty that serves snacks.
4. Clean restrooms, changing rooms and drinking water stations are present at Haddo Jetty.
