Owned by a friendly, elderly man, Swagat Lodge is one of the oldest lodges, and a simple and pocket-friendly option to spend your night in Port Blair. The lodge sees a good mix of inter-island guests as well as tourists and is the best place to get gyaan about local places, culture and people. It also has wifi and rooms are small, but equipped with TV, water heaters and ACs. It does not have an attached restaurant, but there’s a nice dining space if you choose to eat your food inside. If you don’t mind a non-fancy place, Swagat Lodge would be a decent lodging option right in the heart of Port Blair’s Aberdeen Bazar.
