How to go from Neil Island to Havelock ?

Geographically, Havelock and Neil Island are separated by water. This rules out road transportation. Thus ferry services are the most convenient, fastest and economical way to go from Havelock to Neil Island. A ferry is a ship used to carry passengers or vehicles across short stretches of the sea.
Ferry services in Andaman can be categorized into two type:
  • Government Operated Ferry
  • Private Ferry
The advance & online booking is possible only for private ferries. Tickets for govt. ferries can be bought only at the counter, two days before the journey. There are two Private Ferry operators in Andaman (as on Nov 2018):
  • MAK Logistics (Makruzz)
  • Green Ocean Seaways (Green Ocean)
  • Always book ferry tickets before confirming hotels. We cannot stress on this enough. It is unfortunate to see, number of people coming to us with a booked hotel at Port Blair(with strict refund policy) looking to somehow get them a ferry ticket from Neil Island to Havelock . We are only able to do so much.
  • Do not leave ferry bookings to the last minute. Andaman islands have become tourist hot spot in the last couple of years leading to a shortage of ferries from on all routes, whether it is Havelock to Port Blair or Havelock to Neil Island, during the peak holiday season. Hence ferry tickets get sold out weeks before the scheduled departures. We advise you to book your ferry tickets online as soon as your plan to visit the Andaman Islands is finalised.
